THE LAST surviving Internet Explorer user has died peacefully in her favourite armchair aged 84.

Elsie Smith began using Internet Explorer in 1995 when it came per-installed on a personal computer purchased by her late husband, Robin.

She steadfastly stuck firm with Microsoft’s flagship web portal through many years of tumultuous Browser Wars which annihilated the user base of Internet Explorer on the grounds that most people realized it was quite shit.

But Elsie was unphased, remaining loyal to her trusty browser to the very end.

Family and friends say Elsie was a nice old lady who will be sadly missed.
